YTS.mx is the unofficial successor of the defunct YTS or YIFY group, which shut down a few years ago.

This year there is one newcomer, Torrentdownloads. The yearly list of popular torrent sites is filled with well-known brands. The main YTS domain name draws millions of visitors per day even though it only lists movie torrents. YTS is taking over from The Pirate Bay as the most visited torrent site, despite the various legal issues that emerged over the past years.
